Youth Work Ireland Week 2025

Youth Work Ireland Week celebrate sand promote the range and quality of youth work activities that take place each week across youth services in Ireland. 

Each year Youth Work Ireland Week promotes a particular theme of youth work that young people and youth workers say is important to them.  

This year’s theme, Youth Work for All  highlights the vital importance and relevance of youth work to achieving positive outcomes for young people and local communities and calls on government to properly fund and resource our essential services.  

Saturday, April 5th

Youth Work for All: Opening Ceremony 

Limerick Youth Service, 5 Lr. Glentworth Limerick (11am-3pm)

  • Young people from the LYS Diversity & Youth Groups launch Youth Work Ireland Week with plenty of fun and games at Lava Javas Youth Café! 

Missing Pieces Creative Writing Workshop 

Lava Javas Youth Café, 5 Lr. Glentworth Limerick, V94 28C4 (4-6pm) 

  • Young people will be share their stories, poems and a work-in-progress reading of a new play, all demonstrating their individual skills and tastes – there’ll be realism, poeticism, humour and fantasy all on display, but most impressively, there will be a group of young people brave enough and keen enough to share their work with their peers.

  • Drop in and learn more about the many alternative education and training courses for young people. As part of this interactive tour, you can speak with learners about their educational journey. You can also sample some of the famous treats with a cuppa!
