Digital Youth Information Chat Service
Limerick Youth Service’s Youth Information Centre has teamed up with colleagues from across the country to provide a free digital chat service for teenagers, young adults, parents/guardians and those who work with young people.
How does it work?
The chat service is available Monday to Friday from 4-8pm and provides information, guidance and support to young people.
If you want to chat to a Youth Information Officer during that time simply click HERE
If we’re offline, you can leave a message and a Youth Information Officer will get back to you via email the next time we’re online.
What we can help with
Anything! We can support you on an array of topics including: education, employment, social protection benefits, college grants, friends, accommodation, rights & entitlements and many more.
We will give you information, answer your questions, and provide you with a second opinion.
What do young people think of the Digital Chat Service?
Who will you be talking to?
The digital chat service is staffed by Youth Information Officers who are trained to provide information that is impartial, accurate, relevant to your question, in a non-judgmental and easy to understand way.
The Youth Information Officers you will be speaking with are from a number of leading youth organisations: Limerick Youth Service, Youth Work Ireland, Crosscare and YMCA Ireland and is manned by SpunOut.ie.
The most important thing is your safety
If you tell us that you are under 18 and are being harmed, are at risk of being harmed, or have been harmed in the past while under 18, we must report this information to Tusla – the Child and Family Agency – and possibly An Garda Siochana. To make these reports, we need your full name, your age and the county you live in. If you choose not to share this information with us, we will be unable to make a report.
