Young people (16-20yrs) who would like to pursue a career in the baking or catering industries, start on the road to becoming a carpenter, or learn new skills that will change their lives, are invited to apply for number of courses with Limerick Youth Service (LYS).

Delivered at LYS’ Community Training Centre, the innovative and popular programmes are ideal for young people who may have left school early and are looking for a fresh start.
The courses available are:
Both the bakery and catering courses are delivered in industry standard facilities with the produce served to the public in LYS’ restaurant and shop.
On enrolling with LYS’ Community Training Centre, a young person will spend their time in a supportive and encouraging environment, avail of academic and personal support services and participate in exciting periods of work placement.
An Advocacy Officer will also support trainees/students in job searching skills, preparing an employment portfolio and in the progressing to further education and/or employment.
The courses are ideal for young people who may have left school early and a Leaving Cert is not required.
In some circumstances learners will be entitled to a training allowance and/or a travel allowance.
