The evening is an opportunity for LYS to say thank you to the many volunteers who support LYS youth groups/clubs, projects and sit on respective working groups within the youth organisaiton.
‘Since its establishment in 1973, volunteer have and continue to be a key facet of LYS, particularly with supporting our volunteer led youth clubs,’ said Maurice Walsh, LYS.
‘The celebratory evening is our way of recognising the outstanding and invaluable contribution of volunteers to our youth clubs and young people,’ said Maurice, LYS Youth Work Manager.
The LYS Volunteer Celebration Evening coincides with National Volunteer Week that acknowledges the vital role volunteer play across communities while promoting the importance of volunteerism, both to a community and a person.
