Open Mic Nite at Lava Javas

The road to this year’s Irish Youth Music Awards starts at Lava Javas Youth Café on Friday next, January 31st (4-7pm) with teenage musicians from all genres invited to an Open Mic Nite.

Your stage awaits at Lava Javas Youth Cafe

The Open Mic Night will give teenage musicians and singers an opportunity to perform on stage in front of a live and excited audience at the famed youth music venue.

‘We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Lava Javas for our first Open Mic Nite of the New Year,’ said Emily Panter, Limerick Youth Service.

‘The Open Mic Nite will give the young people a taste of performing live and they can sing a cover or their own original piece,’ said youth worker Emily, Lava Javas Youth Project.

As part of the evening, Emily and the Lava Javas Youth Committee will share information and details about the Irish Youth Music Awards.

Affectionately known as the IYMAs, the Irish Youth Music Awards is a youth music educational programme that supports, developing musicians that provides hands-on music-based education, personal development and key links to the music industries.

The regional qualifiers will take place in LYS later in 2025 with the winners taking part in national finals later in May.
