Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival 2023

Come Learn with Me in 2023 is the theme of this year’s Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival which will take place from Monday, March 27th to Sunday, April 2nd.

As part of the festival of learning, Limerick Youth Service is inviting young people, parents/guardians and adults to learn something new about the many youth work, further education and training opportunities available with LYS.

The list of events is as follows:

  • Covid-19 Youth Conference
    • Wednesday, March 29th (9:30-15:00hrs)
    • Explore how young people can be supported to overcome the impacts of Covid-19 on their mental health and wellbeing.
    • Suitable for: professionals who work with young people
    • Location: Thomond Park, Cratloe Road, Limerick

  • A Different Educational Pathway for Young People
    • Wednesday, March 29th (10am-2pm)
    • Speak with learners and staff and students/trainees discuss the many educational and training opportunities for young people with LYS’ Community Training Centre.
    • Suitable for: Parents/guardians, teachers, employers and those who work with young people.
    • Location: LYS Community Training Centre, Lr. Glentworth St, Limerick
  • Discover Rathkeale Youth Space
    • Thursday, March 30th (5-7pm)
    • Teenagers are invited to experience the fun and excitement of Rathkeale Youth Space.
    • Suitable for: Teenagers (14-18yrs)
    • Location: Rathkeale Youth Space, Abbey Court, Rathkeale, Limerick V94 K6K9
  • Discover Europe
    • Friday, March 31st (1-2pm)
    • Learn more about the volunteering, studying, training & employment opportunities available for young people across Europe.
    • Suitable for: Parents/guardians, teachers, employers & those who work with young people  
  • Rural Youth Cinema ‘Storytelling Workshop’ 
    • Friday, March 31st (1:30-3:30pm)
    • An information session and workshop on capturing young people’s experience growing up in rural communities. story telling and filming – sharing our local history’

    • Location: Rathkeale Youth Space and Rathkeale Library
