Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival 2024

Learn Grow Explore in ’24 is the theme of this year’s Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival which will take place from Monday, April 15th to Sunday, April 21st

As part of the festival of learning, Limerick Youth Service is inviting young people, parents/guardians and adults to learn something new about the many youth work, further education and training opportunities available with LYS.

The list of events is as follows:

Monday, April 12th

Introduction to Decider Emotion Regulation and Distress Tolerance Skills for Parents of Teenagers

  • Time: 11:00-12:00
  • Location: Virtual via Zoom (register via Eventbrite. Click HERE)
  • An introduction to the Decider Skills Mental Health Programme for that focuses on how parents can with distress tolerance and emotion
  • Audience: Parents/guardians

Ukrainian Youth Information

  • Location: Limerick Youth Service, 5 Lr. Glentworth St, Limerick V94 YF95
  • Members of the Ukrainian Community to learn more about the many youth clubs, education, training & volunteering opportunities with the youth organisation. Native Ukrainian speaking will be on site to answer all questions.

Discover Europe 

  • Time: 18:30-19:30

  • Learning about the many opportunities to explore for teeangers and twentysomethings to explore Europe. The information workshop includes details of the European Solidarity Corps and more
  • Audience: Young adults (18-30yrs), parents and professionals.

Wednesday, April 17th

Explore Rathkeale Youth Space

  • Time: 15:30-18:00

  • Learn more about the many opportunities for young people and adults at Rathkeale Youth Space, from youth work programmes, youth café, volunteering and more!

Step into a Northside Youth Café

  • Time: 15:30-17:00hrs

  • Young people are invite to experience Footsteps Youth Café from music, pool, youth work programmes and lots more!
  • Audience: Teenagers (1st to 3rd Years)

Explore Education Pathways for Teenagers

  • Time: 10:00-14:00hrs
  • Location: LYS Community Training Centre, Lr. Glentworth St, Limerick V94 YF95
  • Drop in and learn more about the many alternative education and training courses for young people. As part of this interactive tour, you can speak with learners about their educational journey. You can also sample some of the famous treats with a cuppa!
  • Audience: Young people, parents/guardians, professionals who work with teenagers.

Step into a Northside Youth Café
