‘with a youth club a young person has the opportunity to take part in an array of activities’

Young people and volunteers with Kilfinane Youth Club, as well as youth workers with LYS will be on site to answer any questions about a youth club, from joining to taking part and volunteering.

‘Youth clubs are a great asset to young people in the community as they give them the space to be themselves, have fun and spend time with friends, said Caroline O’Connell, LYS.

‘With a youth club a young person has the opportunity to take part in an array of activities and programmes, form art and fitness to personal development and leadership training,’ added youth worker Caroline.

Caroline was keen to stress that youth clubs are not just for the young but also the young at heart saying ‘volunteers play a key part in running a youth club’ adding, ‘it is a great opportunity for adults to gain experience working with young people or get involved in their local community.’

Kilfinane Youth Club is one of many volunteer led youth clubs that are supported by LYS, an organisaton that has over fifty years’ experience in developing and supporting youth clubs.
