Covid 19 Level 5 Update

Following the move to Level 5 Limerick Youth Service is continuing to support young people and their families while adhering to public health guidelines and the Guidance for Youth Work Organisations (Dept CEDIY).

We are operating limited group work activities & programmes with staff liaising with young people.  Learners with our Community Training Centre, will continue their blended learning with a balance between onsite and online course work.

All our youth spaces (see list below) are closed to the public but remain open students and staff on a phased basis.  All young people and staff must follow public health guidelines and LYS protocols which include:

  • Register with reception on arriving at and leaving the respective youth space
  • Wear a face covering at all times (optional for under 13yrs)  
  • Adhere to social distancing (2m or 6ft)
  • Follow one way system in operation at youth spaces 
  • Maintain good hygiene etiquette including washing and/or sanitize hands at regular intervals
  • Group numbers must be less than six

In relation to our youth clubs, LYS is engaging with Youth Work Ireland in relation to the safe reopening of our youth clubs and youth cafes with updates to come.  

We understand that some young people have been adversely affected by these restrictions and we are continuing to provide support to them.

The Garryowen Youth Together Project and the East Limerick Youth Work team are based at integrated community centres with all LYS related young people & staff asked to follow LYS guidelines.  These two projects are located at:
