Celebrate Africa Day at LYS

Limerick Youth Service is inviting young people and their families to celebrate Africa Day with a two-day festival in the heart of Limerick City that starts this Friday, May 23rd at Lava Javas Youth Café.

The Africa Day Youth Culture Festival will include a fashion show, a selection African cuisine, drumming workshops and a live performance from MuRli.

The festival will take place at the LYS Lava Javas Youth Café, 5 Lr. Glentworth St, Limerick with the itinerary as follows:

Friday, May 23rd

  • Fashion Show with Face Afrikana African
  • African Home Cooking
  • Location: Lava Javas Youth Café, 6-8pm

Saturday, May 24th

Family Morning that includes:

  • Magic Show, drumming workshops, face-painting, art, music and more (11am-2pm)
  • West African food with Afro-Delight

Teenage Afternoon that includes:

  • A live performance from MuRli, a DJ set with ‘State Your Flow’ and a drumming workshop (3-6pm)
