Young people with Limerick Youth Service (LYS) marked Limerick Smarter Travel’s Bike Week by holding two ‘Repair Your Rothar’ workshops and cycling through Ballyhoura Bike Trail.Held at The Factory Southside Youth Space and the Northside Youth Space respectively, the ‘Repair Your Rothar workshops saw LYS’ bike crew, which included two aspiring junior mechanics, repair punctures, adjusted saddles and fixed those important brakes.

‘We’d a great turnout at both events with young people, families and staff dropping by with their bicycles at both venues,’ said Cathal Dillion, LYS.

At the Northside Youth Space our junior mechanics, Adam Moynihan & Brian Kinsella, put in an excellent shift as they worked on over twenty bikes.

‘The two boys have a great interested in cycling and it was great to see them get involved in repairing other people’s bikes,’ said Cathal, a Youth & Family Support Worker.

‘While people were waiting for their bikes to be repaired they enjoyed some of LYS’ famed hospitality which included a BBQ with ‘Chef Kate’ in the Northside (To view photos CLICK).
