LYS Celebrates its Golden Jubilee

Limerick Youth Service (LYS) is inviting past participants, volunteers and staff to a night of celebration as the LYS celebrates its Golden Jubilee with a Birthday Party and Reunion!

The 50th celebratory event will take place on Friday, Friday, September 22nd at the Strand Hotel, Ennis Road, Limerick (7pm till late).

Entertainment will be led by MC Lorcan Murray (RTÉ Lyric FM) with an evening of nostalgia, laughter and plenty of surprises!

In 1973, Sr. Joan Bowles first opened the doors of LYS in two roomed space in Rutland St, Limerick City. In the years since, the LYS has grown into one of Ireland’s leading youth organisations.

It is estimated that over 1million young people have spent time with LYS either through its education and training department, with its volunteer led youth clubs, youth work projects, summer camps or other services.

Our celebration evening is an opportunity to catch up with past friends and colleagues, share stories and celebrate the achievements LYS.
