Lifelong Learning Week with LYS

Cyber Youth clubs, experiences of Covid 19 and an opportunity to discover the many education and training opportunities available with Limerick Youth Service are part of this year’s Lifelong Learning Festival.

Running from Monday, September 28th to Sunday, October 4th and includes a variety of online workshops, exhibitions and more with LYS running the following:

  • Cyber Youth Club
    • Monday, September 28th 6:30-7:30pm
    • Experience the excitement of an online youth club with the Digital Youth Work team at LYS.
    • Suitable for: Young people (10-14yrs) Groups will be separated on school year/class
    • The cyber youth club will take place via Zoom with registration via Eventbrite.
  • Diversity in the Limerick Community-the Impact of Covid-19
    • Wednesday, September 30th (6-7pm)
    • A panel of exceptional speakers including LYS’ Shay Moloney & Tyrone Guillen (19yrs) reflect on the impact COVID 19 is having on diverse and minority groups in Limerick
    • Suitable for: all
    • This event is hosted by Mary Immaculate College Athena SWAN in collaboration with Limerick Youth Service, GOSHH, Doras & UL Sanctuary PhD fellow.
    • It takes place on MS teams with registration via Eventbrite
  • Ability Programme: Who We Are & What We Do
    • Wednesday, September 30th (6:30-7:30pm)
    • Staff and participants share their experiences of LYS’ Ability Programme which engages with and support young people (16-24yrs) who have a disability.
    • Suitable for: Parents/guardians, professionals such as support workers, teachers etc
    • The event will take place on Zoom with registration via Eventbrite
  • Further Education & Training Opportunities with LYS
    • Thursday, October 1st (3-4pm)
    • Staff and students/trainees discuss the many vocational and educational opportunities with LYS’ Community Training Centre.
    • Suitable for: Parents/guardians, professionals such as career guidance counsellors, youth workers, teachers etc
    • The event will take place on Zoom with registration via Eventbrite
  • Cyber Youth Club
    • Friday, October 4th 6:30-7:30pm
    • Experience the excitement of an online youth club with the Digital Youth Work team at LYS.
    • Suitable for: Young people (10-14yrs) Groups will be separated on school year/class
    • The cyber youth club will take place via Zoom with registration via Eventbrite.

Pre-registration is essentially for all the above events with interested parties asked to click on the highlighted Eventbrite link on the respective workshops.

All LYS workshops will be delivered via Zoom with participants asked to adhere to LYS Digital Youth Work Guidelines.  Parental consent is required for Under 18s.
