Come Learn with LYS in 2023

Come Learn with Me in 2023 is the theme of this year’s Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival, Limerick Youth Service (LYS) is inviting young people and the wider community to learn more about LYS.

Stating on Monday, March 27th and running until Sunday, April 2nd, the Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival is a great opportunity to find out more about the many youth work, further education and training opportunities available with one of Ireland’s leading youth organisations.

Throughout the week, LYS will host the following event at various locations across Limerick:

Covid-19 Youth Conference

  • Wednesday, March 29th (9:30-15:00hrs)
  • Explore how young people can be supported to overcome the impacts of Covid-19 on their mental health and wellbeing.
  • Suitable for: professionals who work with young people.
  • Location: Thomond Park, Cratloe Road, Limerick.
  • (pre booking is essential)

A Different Educational Pathway for Young People

  • Wednesday, March 29th (10am-12pm)
  • Speak with learners and staff and students/trainees discuss the many educational and training opportunities for young people with LYS’ Community Training Centre.
  • Suitable for: Parents/guardians, teachers, employers and those who work with young people.
  • Location: LYS Community Training Centre, Lr. Glentworth St, Limerick.

Discover Rathkeale Youth Space

  • Thursday, March 30th (2-5pm)
  • Teenagers are invited to experience the fun and excitement of Rathkeale Youth Space.
  • Suitable for: Teenagers (14-18yrs)
  • Location: Rathkeale Youth Space, Abbey Court, Rathkeale, Limerick V94 K6K9

Discover Europe

  • Thursday, March 30th (1-2pm)
  • Learn more about the volunteering, studying, training & employment opportunities available for young people across Europe.
  • Suitable for: Parents/guardians, teachers, employers & those who work with young people.
  • Location: Limerick Youth Service, 5 Lr. Glentworth St, Limerick.

Rural Youth Cinema ‘Storytelling Workshop’ 

  • Friday, March 31st (13:30-15:30hrs)
  • An information session and workshop on capturing young people’s experience growing up in rural communities. storytelling and filming – sharing our local history’
  • Suitable for young people
  • Location: Rathkeale Youth Space and Rathkeale Library
