Limerick Youth Service is continuing to support young people and their families during this challenging time. All our services are operating in line with the HSE’s public health guidelines, the Department of Children’s Guidance for Youth Work Organisations and guidance from the Limerick & Clare Education & Training Board.
Following changes to the Covid-19 public restrictions, the following changes apply to all Limerick Youth Service departments.
Education & Training:
Students/learners with LYS’ Community Training Centre have returned to face to face delivery.
Classes will continue on a phased basis with students/learners assigned to their respective pods an continuing their blended learning course work.
All learners/students will receive a text from LYS if they are any changes to this situation.
Youth Work:
All our youth work projects including UBU, GYDP & Youth & Family Support will run outdoors programmes with groups meeting indoors with limited numbers.
Youth Work Outdoors
No restrictions on outdoor youth work with detached & outreach programmes continuing
Follow all public health protocols that are in place
Youth Work Indoors
Structured youth work in pods of six (excluding youth worker)
Facemasks must be worn
Sanitize all workspaces after use
Follow all public health & LYS guidelines
Digital Youth Work will continue as follows:
Youth workers will support young people via email, phone, text & social media
In certain situations youth workers will deliver or post programme material to your home.

Mental Health team:
The Be Well Mental Health team will continue to provide its service as follows: face to face, virtually, phone, email & text. In certain situations the Be Well team will meet young people indoors while following strict public health guidelines. For more click HERE
Youth Information Centre:
The Youth Information team continues to provide its service and is available for drop-ins and/or outreach workshops. It can be contacted as follows:

Ability Programme
The Ability team will continue to support clients and their families as follows: face to face, group work, via phone, email, text and virtually. For more click HERE
Youth Spaces
All LYS youth spaces are open to to the young people, staff and the public. However, the following public health guidelines apply
All visitor to register with reception.
Face coverings are mandatory for over 13s.
Follow one way system in operation
Visitors to our Paradise Restaurant, Community Training Centre must be fully vaccinated or have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 6 months, as well as children under 18 in their care.
LYS encourages all young people, volunteers and staff to continue to follow the public health advice and guidelines issued by the relevant authorities such as the Health Safety Executive (HSE).
