Limerick Comhairle na nÓg AGM

Limerick Comhairle na nÓg is inviting young people (12-17yrs) to take part in this year’s AGM which will take place virtually on Friday, November 27th (11am-1pm).

The AGM is a great opportunity for young people to find out more about Comhairle na nÓg, speak with current and past members and take part in exciting workshops.

This year’s AGM will be opened by the Mayor of the City & County of Limerick, Cllr. Michael Collins and will include a workshop from Dr. Jennifer McMahon from the University of Limerick.

Limerick Comhairle na nÓg is a youth council that advocates for young people, raise awareness of issues of importance to them and participate in the development of polices that are relevant to them.

Early this year Limerick Comhairle na nÓg won a World No Tobacco Day Award for its participation in the development and implementation of the Not Around Us Smoke Free Campaign.

As the event will take place via Zoom young people will need to register HERE and follow Limerick Youth Service digital youth work guidelines.

Young people, teachers, parents or youth workers who would like more information about the AGM or Comhairle na nÓg can contact John at johnr@limerickyouthservice.org or 087-2626816.

Supported by Limerick Youth Service (LYS), Limerick Comhairle na nÓg gives a voice to young people allowing them to influence government policy at a local and national level.

In the past Comhairle na nÓg has addressed issues such as youth homelessness, living in the Direct Provision system, cyberbullying and the teaching of sexual education in the secondary schools.

A member of Youth Work Ireland, LYS remains committed to connecting with young people and supporting them to reach their full potential.
