Young people, families and members of the community joined staff and volunteers at Garryowen Youth Together Project as it celebrated its first anniversary.

Garryowen Youth Together Project began as a new detached youth work project and in the year since the youth workers first ventured out and about in St. John’s Parish it has become a firm part of the community.

‘It’s been quite a year!’’ said LYS youth worker Johnathan Collins as he reflected on a busy first year with Garryowen Youth Together Project.

‘We started out last year getting to know young people across the community and from those conversations we now have a number of youth groups, a Saturday drop in club while our detached youth work continues to grow from strength to strength,’ said Johnathan.

‘We can’t thank the community enough for making us feel very welcome and engaging with our youth project,’ said Johnathan.

A joint initiative between Limerick Youth Service (LYS) & Garryowen Community Development Project, Garryowen Youth Together Project is located at 23 John’s St, Limerick.

A member of Youth Work Ireland, Limerick Youth Service remains committed to connecting with young people & encouraging them to reach their full potential.

Garryowen Community Development Project’s mission is to empower local people, to be actively involved in meeting the needs of their Community by working together.
